Videsh Bhraman..

Again back to Hawaii for a periode of around 15 days.I arrived here on 8th of Spetember. This time I am very much free of anxities that haunted me last time. Last time was my first visit of the US and to be frank I was worried and to add to my worry I received my luggage after a delay of two days..Just think of living two days without your luggage.
And while going back I missed my connecting flight from JFK to Mumbai,because of a delay in the connecting flight from Honolulu to Log Angeles. I had to sleep on the floor in the New York in the airport....
This time I got my luggage without any delay so quite a relieve. Everything is going fine till now. But have not been able to explore becuase of the office works. I am supposed to go to Atlanta from here on 22nd September, stay there for a week, come back to Honolulu on 28th and then Fly back India on 30th September.So my whole flight Itenary looks like this:
On 8th Septemeber:Pune->Mumbai->New York->Atlanta->Honolulu( A Total of 36 hrs)
On 22nd->Honolulu->Mineapoish->Atlanta
On 28thAtlanta->Detroit->Los anglese->Honolulu
and then on 30th
Honolulu->Los anglese->New York->Mumbai->Pune
Quite a Journey!!!!

Hawaiian Skyline

Hawaiian skyline as seen from my hotel room in Honolulu. Also seen the Nimitz Highway and part of the Honlolulu International Airport

Exciting US(Hawaii)!!

Its almost a week now in Hawaii. Its a beautiful place, I can see the blue ocean from all the places, my hotel room, my office everywhere. The difference between mainland US and Hawaii is that here the culture is very much mixed. Its the melting pot of oriental and western culture. People are very very decent and polite(Or that coimg from India, everything seems decent!).I am Trying to eat as many different dishes as I can, and the great thing is that you get all those western as well as chinese and japanese cusines. Its good. This is my visit to the US and I am amazed at all the descipline, to the point and sometimes I am finding it very boring. Wheres the excitement of crossing a road, that we experience in India? Where are the cows, motor-cycles, autos, buses....in the road? No excitement at all.I know where I need to go for groceries, where I need to go for electrical items. In India we can find everything in every corner and the exciting part is deciding where to go any buy that in the cheapest rate and that too with a fight with the vendor.Its boring. Here everybody greets everybody, all the girls smile at you, so where the excitement that you get to have a single smile from a girl u liked in your childhood. Every women here wear short dresses, wheres the excitement of seeing a little bit of flesh in India, for which you need to do lots of hardwork. But from another angle I think it would be a nice place to live with your wife before the kids are born. No neighbourhood responsisblities, no hassel, it would be goodlife. What do u think?

Today morning when went for morning walk to ARAI Hills, this dog somehow got quite fond of us, and took a morning walk with us. It was amazing to see the way it was going ahead of us, then would look back and wait for us...My first experience.. Is he telling me to adopt him?

Murudeshwa

Murudeshwar is around 180 km from Mangalore on the National Highway. The sea is an intrinsic part of the temple at Murudeshwar. The sea on three sides surrounds the temple towering on the small hill called Kanduka Giri. Two life-size elephants in concrete stand guard at the steps leading to the temple. The Murudeshwar temple has a history that dates back to a few centuries. A small temple existed here for generations. A recent attraction is the Lord Shiva idol erected beside the temple. The idol towers 123 feet into the sky and is the tallest Shiva idol in the world. The Western Ghats has always held a special place in the hearts of pleasure seeking nature lovers.

Gloomy Runrise...

Sometimes seemingly bright sunrise can also be as gloomy as a sunset. I discovered it when I was in the Marina beach few days back...

Kaziranga

This time when I went home I visited the famed Kaziranga National Park. I always used to go past this forest while I was in college, during vacation, as the Natioanl Highway by the side of the forest. I always used to see the Rhinos grazing. I stayed there for two nights and took an Elephant Safari.

Engaged

Days are woozing past. As I wished in a few post back, I am engaged now. I dont want to write about her, cause a blog is not sufficient to describe somebody.Its quite a few days now.I met her a few months ago(it still seems to a few days only). I dont know why but when I met her, for the first time I experienced a certain kind of confidence, which I never got from anybody. I was amused at her bantings as well. Without knowing somebody I could open my heart without thinking if she would feel bad looking at the other side of mine.Maybe these things are like this only.
"In the lanes of my life
I wrote no entry and exit points
But she came loughing by
and Said I enter everywhere"
(I read a poem similar to this when in college, but I dont remebere it now, so reworded)I went home in March, and got enagaged to her. So entered a new phase. Already experienced quite a few tremors...:-) But I want to face it with an open heart.

New years

It has been decade now that I wrote last..Many things have happened in the last few days.The new year has been good till now. For the new years eve I went to Murud-Janjira.It was a very enjoyable trip. For the first time my 'Dhanoo' ie my car went for a long journey. Actually we had planned it quite a long back. When we went to Himanshus,one of my friend and former roomate now staying in Mumbai , marriage to Agra in December at that time only we decide that this time in New Years we will go somewhere. I was not that optimistic. Cause as it happens with my roommates and former roomates whenever we plan something, it eventually does not happen. So I had my back-up plan ready. Till the 30th December I was not sure if we will really go. But on 30th Dec in the evening when everybody said ok, and I and one of my roomates actually went to do little bit of shopping then I thought we are surely going. There were 5 of us in my car, 4 of my friends and one of my friends wife.Himanshu with his wife was supposed to meet us in the midway in his car. Our plan was to go to Alibaug and celebrate the new years there. I heard a lot about it and I though it would be a mini Goa...We started around at 7 o’clock in the morning. Then went to Shailies place to pick him and his wife. There we had breakfast and by the time we started moving it was around 9 o'clok. Himanshu already strated and he was calling us in every 5 min to enquire whether we started or not.He was angry that we were so late and then he stopped in Thane Macdonalds.The drive to Khapoli exit was cool, as we had taken the Pune-Mumbai ExpressWay. But once we took the Khapoli Exit, the whole affair became different. The road became very bad. To travle 25 km we took another 1 hour..So u can understand how pathetic the road is, and the surprising fact is that this road almost adjacent to the Expressway. Then we reached Mumbai-Goa highway. And started looking for Himanshu.And a great confusion erupted whether he we overtook him or not, and where to meet. It took around half an hour to sort out the confusion and finally met him in a road side dhaba. From there to Alibaug it took around 1 hour. Once we reached Alibuag, instantly we started looking out for accomodation, as we planned to stay the night. First we found a dorm for which the owner was asking exorbiant price.We decided not to take it and started looking further. Then we got it...A beautiful hotel 'Sun and Sea'. They had rooms, but the cost was 8500 per room excliding anything..It was sky high considering the Hotel..We had a heated argument and decided not to stay over there. Then we decided to go the beach and have a look. Once we reached the Beach, we show hordes of people, and mud...no sign of the sea. Ankur commented 'It seems to be Kumbh Mela' of Allahbad. At the very first look we decided that we were not going to spend the night in there...So what to do one option was to go to Murud, the other to either comebck to Pune or Mumbai...We took the first option.. The drive to Murud from Alibaug was beautiful.The road surrounded by sea in one side and other side by hill and forest. It was a beauty.On the way we crossed Kashid, another beautiful beach. we reached Murud we started looking for accommodation. Again started the trial and error method. Went to each and every hotel/resort/homestay...But no luck..We lost hope and was contemplating coming back.Suddenly Jeegar, another roomate of mine, stopped the car in the midway of a village and told me to inquire there...We asked a person who was sitting on the road, he took us to a house nearby..But no luck..Then he took us to another house, and what we see Jeegar and others were there, already having a look in the house. The house was available. It was a complete 2 BHK with fully equipped kitchen, terrace and all..and for only 2000 rupees. I sighed a relieve..comparing what we experienced in Alibaug. Then we went to the Beach and there govt organized Beach party was going on at the full swing. We saw it for sometime and then selected a secluded place and all of us sat there and started a bonfire and started waiting for 12 o’clock.At 12 o’clock there was great fire works ..... We were all dancing... It was really great, by the side of sea, with everybody dancing, embracing a new Year.... It was one of my best New Years Eve... I am coming back there, very sooon...With Somebody, who is very special....
